Sri Lanka is one of the world's most important sources of fine coloured gemstones. The island's complex geology — formed over billions of years of tectonic activity — produces an extraordinary range of gem-quality minerals. Blue Sapphire
Sri Lanka produces some of the finest blue sapphires in the world. Ceylon sapphires are renowned for their vivid cornflower-blue to royal-blue hues, exceptional clarity, and brilliant lustre. Unlike sapphires from other origins, Sri Lankan stones often display a lighter, more luminous blue that is highly prized by collectors.
Padparadscha Sapphire
Among the rarest sapphires in existence, padparadschas display a delicate pink-orange colour reminiscent of a lotus blossom. Found almost exclusively in Sri Lanka, these gems are considered the most valuable fancy sapphire variety and are highly sought after by serious collectors worldwide.
Spinel
Once confused with ruby, spinel is now recognised as a superb gem in its own right. Sri Lankan spinels come in vivid reds, hot pinks, cobalt blues, and soft lavenders. Spinel is never treated — what you see is entirely natural — making it a favourite among gem connoisseurs who value authenticity.
Alexandrite
One of the most remarkable gemstones in nature, alexandrite changes colour depending on the light source — appearing green in daylight and red-purple under incandescent light. Sri Lanka is one of only a handful of sources for this extraordinary chrysoberyl variety.
Star Sapphire
Sri Lanka is the world's premier source of fine star sapphires — stones that display a six-rayed star effect (asterism) when viewed under a single light source. The finest examples show a sharp, well-centred star floating above a translucent blue body.

We fully disclose all treatments. Many Sri Lankan sapphires are heat-treated, which is standard industry practice. We always specify whether a stone is untreated (no-heat), heated, or has undergone any other treatment — so you can make an informed decision.

What is the difference between natural and synthetic gemstones?
Natural gemstones are formed by geological processes over millions of years, while synthetic (lab-created) stones are manufactured to have the same chemical composition and crystal structure. We deal exclusively in natural gemstones and always disclose the origin and nature of every stone.
